Call to Worship
Praise, O servants of the Lord; praise the name of the Lord.
Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time on and forevermore.
From the rising of the sun to its setting the name of the Lord is to be praised!
Let us worship God!
Prayer of Confession
Before you, God, we confess our brokenness. Forgive the ways we wound our lives, the lives of others and the life of the world. God forgive us, Christ renew us. Holy Spirit enable us to grow in love. Help us abide always in thanksgiving to you.
(Time for silent confession)
Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24
from Psalm 113
Affirmation of Faith
Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death ─ even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
