Call to Worship
Baptized in water, sealed in the Spirit,
we gather as followers of Jesus.
Christ died for us.
Christ rose for us.
Christ reigns in power for us.
Christ prays for us.
The old life is gone; the new life has begun.
In the hope and joy of our renewal, let us worship God!
Prayer of Confession
Holy One, you come to us with humility; we confess our desire for might.
You come to us with gentleness; we confess we want control.
Holy God, we pour out the concerns and confessions of our hearts to you. Look within and sit with our wounds. As we stand in the pain and brokenness of what is and long for what is yet to be fully realized in you, we ask for your blessing.
Forgive us where we have contributed to the divisions in our society with our own apathy, arrogance or desire for autonomy. Have mercy on our contempt for creation born of our disregard.
Baptize us into a fresh experience of your forgiveness and extravagant love that we would be emboldened as your witnesses. Amen.

Affirmation of Faith
From the United Church of Canada
We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God’s presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.
